Hi!
I just joined this website and am really happy to talk with other people who have the thrill of Crohn's disease. I have never met another person with Crohn's, and I was diagnosed 18 years ago.
I have had 8 surgeries from Crohn's. One was a rupture in my intestines, which lead to a 3 month hospital stay. I have had 2 feet of intestine removed. I've had many fistula surgeries.
I tried Pentasa 8 years ago, and it made me so sick I stopped taking it. I've had 2 rounds of Remicade infusions, 1 &1/2 years apart. After the second round of Remicade, I developed little blisters on my hands, feet, legs, and scalp--I llost all of my hair for about 6 months. I have read up on this, they call it Pustular Scoriosis. IT comes back with Crohn's flare-ups.
I just went through a delightful Colonoscopy, and they found 4 pre-cancerous neoplastic tubular adenomas. I found out about this a week ago, and....what do I do? The doctor's attitude, 'Well, I removed them". I had thyroid cancer years ago and really get aggressive when I hear the word cancer.
I am working on my second Master's Degree, and my husband and I have a small farm. I think about my Crohn's except when it jumps up and kicks me in the teeth (or butt). We have one bathroom. Bears aren't the only thing that poop in the woods.
