Did you guys hear about this? Seems like he was hit pretty seriously, but maybe it can raise some awareness!

Thanks for posting this! Maybe this could be a good thing for awareness! I can't believe the first time ever I have not watched American Idol, :yfaint: ...and this happens. So sad to see someone's dreams crushed. We all know about those.

wow...nothing like having it announced to the whole world...lol
it is one thing when it is your choice ....
poor guy - he is my favourite too... not that I watch it very often...

It is sad that this happened to him but hopefully it will bring more awareness.

Another Long Islander on the forum I see!

A few years ago a character on the Sopranos had ulcerative colitis. I thought it might raise awareness but then she got whacked!

Thanks Keona...hahaha Nosick...you just totally struck my funny bone...that one doesn't ache from Aza!!!

Didn't JFK Jr. have Crohn's? I wish that Judging Amy star would have spoken up. She had to have had UC or Crohn's. I am guessing she has a bag and is worried if she discusses it at all she will be asked and its hard to lie...and isn't ready to talk about it. I guess I can understand...but it would be so helpful to the rest of us to raise awareness...I had seen her on t.v. just after I found out I had Crohn's instead of UC and might have to have surgery...I was glued to the tv to see what she had to say and she said nothing really...she had a "big ol operation" and that was it. Too bad...

Frank from "American Pickers" (think its on the History Channel?) has Crohn's Disease, he is in an article in the most recent "Crohn's Advocate" magazine discussing his traveling with the disease. Its a show about a couple guys who travel mostly in the midwest US scouting for antiques to buy and resell at their store in Iowa.
Never heard him talk about it elsewhere, would be good to have more celebrities talking about this stupid condition.

Haha I do remember that!

Yeah the URL is embedded, im not allowed to post links yet so I kinda bended the rules, sorry :)

Its Amy herself. She was out of the show Private Practice for a long time...she was having an operation and it said she suffered from intestinal issues. She was on a talk show and said "she had a big old operation" and is all good now. She would not elaborate at all. If you google her you will see it. I can't spell her last name but I think its Brenanagan.

wow...really?.. i watched it all the time and never knew....

Wasn't she out for a while after she had her baby cut out of her belly? In fact...on the last episode at the end...didn't her husband on the show take some photos of her scar? They had a stuffy photo on her book cover and then at the end...he was taking photos...for the book I thought. Anyhow...I wonder...that must have been her real scar!!! I bet!!! I am going to google...I bet its on a site somewhere! Maybe she is starting to come around and will, eventually, discuss her operation. I hope so. If anyone doesn't watch Private Practice - this post probably won't make much sense...:)

i couldnt find anything - she is fairly evasive about it and only hear about "intestinal issues"
can you post it if you find anything spingirl?

Interesting...she still doesn't get too in depth...its too bad because she could raise awareness.

Thanks for posting this.

I agree, Spingirl. She's open enough to be pro-choice and talk about having had an abortion... it would be great if she could really go out there talking about her disease and surgery.

David Garrard, NFL's starting QB from the Jacksonville Jaguars also has crohn's disease. He has been open about his disease and has even done a commercial bringing awareness to the disease.

who knows..maybe she just needs a little more time. She wasn't saying anything about it at first..

I heard a famous rugby player has it too but im not much for rugby si i dont have any names...
An ex high school boyfriend had it done as well and he still doest talk about it. He just says he had an operation and now he is cured. I use to visit him in hospital until I had to move away... He and his wife just had a baby boy the other day :) .
