And I want to kill my doctor (again). I have been losing weight since Summer (I lost 15 kilos so far, thats 30 pounds for the non-europeans). I was complaining for pain, blood, feelings that I dont "empty" when I poop, night visits to the toilet, 10-15 bathrrom trips daily. But my blood work was normal and my crp levels were normal and the doctor kept teling me I am fine. Well FINALLY on february my inflamation levels hit the roof. I had an coloscopy and I am full flaring and guess what the doc said...

"Why didnt you come sooner for a colonscopy?"
I gave him the "I will kill you" look and he said "oh yes your blood work was normal I guess we should have listen to your complains" Well thanks for nothing doc.

So since yesterday I am back on pred, ALOT of pred, bye salt and sugar for a at least a month. And then we are going to give a boost to Humira with "something else too" Either AZA (imuran) or something similar.

The doctor was not willing to play the Remicade card yet, my old toxoplasmosis and CMV infections make him unwilling to try remicade until its the last resort.

Just a question, anyone who is on Humira and "something else" For longer than six months? Side effects? Is Humira working better along with another supressant?

I am quite certain than I flared because I became immune to Humira but my doctor seems optimistic that its just an single episode.

I hate Crohns and right now I am not very fond of my doctor too. :stinks:

I was on Remicade and Imuran. Not Humira but I understand that it's the same idea with most of the biologic-immunosuppressant combos. They both work individually as well as 'boosting' each other. It could be a single episode but it's hard to say. Have you considered seeing another doctor if you aren't happy with your current one.

There is no other doctor better in my city. I have the top doctor specialised in IBD in northern greece. The thing is he is always too busy to deal with each patient he only listens when i am almost dying

I am on Humira and Imuran. It has only been a few months, but my inflammatory markers are lower and my white blood cell count is finally normal. Not necessarily Crohn's items, but it is helping to be at least more on target with getting to remission eventually. The concern with the Imuran added is now that my WBC is normal, it could continue to decrease, which is a concern on immunosuppresants.

A "best" doctor is only as good as his bedside will allow. If he doesn't have time to listen to you, he isn't "the best." Find another doctor.
