well, maybe I spoke too soon about remicade being the miracle drug. I have an appointment with my doc tomorrow morning at 10:30, but I'm losing so much blood right now I may not make it... cup fulls, and I am low to begin with... arggg what should I do, I do not want to go to the emergency room!!!!!!!!!:confused2: :confused2: :confused2: and:ymad: :ymad: :ymad: I just can't take this anymore. I just can't.

You have to go to the emegency room, you'd be silly not to. You seriously need to get things checked out. Hope everything goes ok for you

Go to the emergency room, you will be better off by going. Good luck. If you tell your doctor how you are bleeding he/she will not be happy.

Best of luck to you

i agree its not good to be losing that much blood go to A&E ((hugs))

Thanks... went Wed night, just got released this morning. Just a waiting game now (again) If the drugs don't start working (I posted this on another thread, sorry) then I will need an Ileostomy (J-Pouch) because my whole large intestine is shredded. Little problem though, if you read my first post on this group, I was diagnosed with UC about 10 years ago, but we are still not sure 100%. As the years go by, it looks more and more like Crohn's, but still pathologicaly UC. Weird, my doc told me yesterday that the pathologist who studied my biopsies told him that the biopsies don't show crohn's, but visually, from the scoping, the ulcers are way to deep to be UC and look more like Crohn's that go through the entire intestinal wall? Only reason this would be important is because if I am 100% sure that it is UC then I would go ahead and opt for the surgery because it would essentially be a cure... no colon no colitis. But if it turns out to be Crohn's after all, then it could move into my small intestines post surgery... yikes! Anyway, enough of my complaining. How are the rest of you all doing? Thanks for replying to my post... I figured you would give good advice!:)

I understand your concerns about what if its crohns. And to me it definetly sounds like Crohns. UC does not go into your small bowel. and Crohns affects the entire bowel, every layer, where as you know UC only affects the first layer, or the mucosal layer, which wouldnt present itself as ulcers and such.

Your in a tough position and if I was you I would opt out of surgery until the last second atleast. You need to maybe even have another colonoscopy, or the pill capsule camera, and if you DO have inflammation or scarring or anything in your small bowel, then I hate to say it but you might want to go ahead with the surgery...because it wont get better. OR you can always just disconnect your colon...a lot of times when you take a diseased portion of bowel out of the fecal stream, it heals itself, which is what happened with my rectal stump....give it some thought, and as your surgeon about it if you've already got one, which I hope so since your talking about surgery, a GI isnt really a key factor in surgery, they just suggest, the surgeon will be the one making the "dr" decision about whether to have surgery, using the GI's notes and such but still....its up to the surgeon and you.

Hope it gets better for you. I know many times I was severely sick but still ended up not getting surgery, actually the first flare I had lasted constantly, I was bedridden and in the ER dozens of times within 3 months and admitted 4 times in about 2 and a half months, but didnt get surgery then, so make wise choices about WHEN and IF to get surgery please.

Ive been told the same thing, very frustrating isnt it? They are back to mine being CD, and only because the only thing that brought me any relief was methotrexate and remicade, which dont usually do as much for UC.
I hope you get it sorted. and that your feeling better now. (at least a bit)
