my GI recently told me if my anemia came back he would perform Argon Plasma Coagulation (essentially burn away the damaged area with a laser) .. which takes on average three separate endoscopies. Hematologist agrees.
GI had wanted me on oral iron supplements once I got out of critical level anemia, but hematologist disagreed, wanted to see how well my body maintained my iron levels on its own. Did not supplement and now am anemic again...(kinda pissed about that!!)
Hematologist wants my OB/GYN to do another ultrasound or CT scan to check my ovarian cyst. OB/GYN says it isn't necessary, it will resolve itself.
So, what advice do you guys have on juggling the conflicting concerns and care of multiple doctors? What do you do when one says one thing and the other another? I try to keep my PCP in the loop - but do you send them everything?
