My last Remi was on Feb 18th, I'm suppose to get it every 8 weeks, my last one before that was Thanksgiving, when I had it on 2/18 I had a really bad experience having chest pain, difficult breathing, I ended up going to the ER but all they did was an EKG (it was ok) and gave me demoral.

I had it today and 4 hours later I'm getting the same issues, I've been going for 10yrs and these last 2 have been me questions it now. I see my GI in July so we will discuss if I continue or try something knew.

I just took 2 Benadryl and thinking of taking a Vicodin for the pain and hopefully that will help me sleep through the night.

I knew I should not have had this done on memorial Day weekend!

Anyone had reactions like this?

Thanks
Melissa

Can you bump the appointment before your next infusion? You may be developing an anaphylactic reaction. Do you have an epi pen on hand in case your throat starts closing up?

No I don't, only trouble I'm having is pain in my chest going down under my left rib cage, I just told my husband, I thought maybe since I was recently diagnosed with lesions on my liver that maybe the my liver cant handle remicade, I started having issues with that about 4 months ago so who knows.

If I start feeling like my throat is closing, I will call 911. Thank you for your advice.

I need to make time to not let weeks go by and go get this done, my office is very cool w/ me taking off work, I have tried to do this on my own time due to me being busy at work and short staff, but that's going to change if my GI will want me to continue!! I cant go thru this again!! Never had any problems b4 except lower back pain after an infusion.

Even after years on Remicade people do develop allergic reactions and cannot handle the drug. For your safety make sure you discuss this with the GI and have appropriate supervision at the infusion center if you continue.

^^^ yeah that

DS had about 6-7 infusions before he started to have trouble.
Even if you do not "see" your gi until July-
You need to call asap and make them aware of what was going on.
They may change your pre meds for the next infusion or stop all together.
