I'm booked in to have yet another Colonoscopy & this time they are going to attempt balloon dilation for my stricture. Had one in June but they couldn't attempt the dilation because the Dr then was a senior registrar & wasn't qualified.
So I've waited 7 weeks with my stricture getting tighter to have to start again really. Shame & extremely frustrating.
So saw the Snr Consultant today & two options
Dilation & then Methetrexate or Surgery. I've had it with surgery TBH, with me the disease just comes back within 2-2 1/2 months-I cannot see the point.
But he has warned me that because there is active Crohns in & around the stricture its a high risk procedure. I've had them dilated before but thats the 1st time I've been told that.
So basically I'm happy with giving it a go but frustrated with the timescale. 7 weeks ago I could have been dilated & on methetrexate & possibly feeling much better than I currently do.
Isn't life grand
