Hi there

So I got some serious road rash on my leg from the concrete a few days ago. Finally getting to see my PCP to make sure I'm properly taking care of it. I'm also on Remicade, so I'm hoping that the Dr will OK me to get my treatment on Thursday for the medicine...

my question is if the doctor decides to prescribe me Antibiotics, is that safe for Remicade? is that safe for Crohns? I always read about people who get C-Diff from antibiotics, how can I prevent that?

My daughter started antibiotics one week prior to remicade and she was allowed to have the infusion. I suggest probiotics also. Good luck. I hope you leg gets better soon.

Take Florastor with antibiotics. It may help prevent cdiff. It helped me recover from it. I would start taking it as soon as possible if you know you will be placed on antibiotics.

FYI if you take Florastor you can take at the same time as antibiotics because it's yeast based. OTHERWISE if you take another kind, take 2 hours away from antibiotics

My daughter is on Remicade, and she had to take antibiotics in July. She took Florastor and Culturelle during and after the antibiotics (for about a month), and didn't have any problems. Hope your leg is better soon.

Lots of probiotics and florastor. I would take a probiotic that has Lots of colonies of bacteria( at least 100 billion) twice a day along with Florastor.
