I was diganosed May 1st after every test was done. I have crohns of the ileum with ulcerarions and inflammation. I have been on a 4 week treatment if flagyl and levoquin with pentasa as my main med to stay on. I also take a probiotic, nexium, and multivitamin. I still at this point suffer from extreme fatigue..my body feels exhausted and aches. Im not sure if this seems unusual or if its a common thing. I also have a mild to moderate, yet constant ache in my lower right side. I eat like the doc told me too and take all meds as required..shouldnt I feel better by now?!?!

Hi Mandy
I too have Crohns of the Ileum with inflammation in the LRQ. The meds for me took a few weeks to really have effect. This only slowed dowwn the bowel movements and less D. The pain never stops down there for me and I now take Amitriptyline for that. The exhaustion is perfectly normal and hopefully as your infalmmation is brought under control so your energy I find will increase. Your food intake is very important and you should get your vitamin D and B12 levels checked. There are many more senior memebers than me on here that will be able to help you with more specific questions but in the mean time just be patient and if you dont improve go back to your doc.

Hello Mandy,
Your symptoms are consistent with crohns but it might be indicated for you to talk to your GI about your current symptoms and seeming lack of progress..
Maybe you need some different medication, such a remicade or humira.
Have you had your B12 level checked? Low levels can cause fatigue.
I would have expected you to be feeling a little better at least by now.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

Thanks for the comments! I had my bloodwork done for iron and other possible defficiencies about 2 weeks ago but havent heard about the results yet. One of other issues is that I dont use the restroom regularly and diarrhea hasnt ever been an issue....i have actually lost weight since ive been on the meds now but my appetite and energy has decreased as well. Id like to know all of the details of this disease but it seems impossible. Every story is different and everyone has different reactions to meds. I am just concerned now that my flagyl and levoquin are almost finished...
