Anyone else doing the walk?

My 10 year old was diagnosed in Dec 2009. This is the first year we will be doing "The Gutsy Walk". The walk is to raise money for research, to find a cure for IBD. We just found out about the walk, and we are really looking forward to it! She has recently met two boys her age (through the CCFC) who have Colitis. We are thinking of participating in our area - thought it might be nice for my son to see how many other people are out there with Crohns/colitis.

If you click on my link, you will find info for your area. The Ontario walk in June 10th across Ontario. Apparently this is the first year it is Ont wide on the same day. We are really looking forward to the walk. I volunteered through the CCFC making phone calls this week, making follow up calls to past walkers. I spoke to so many wonderful people who told me how the walk has helped them. They all said it is a wonderful experience and just in general a whole lot of fun.

Thanks for the info I'll click and figure out where is closest for us. I had heard about it before and actually we have sponsored one of our friend's kids for the last few years... it's weird to now be on the other side of the fence so to speak - we are fairly new to all of this but it sounded cool. Of course CCFC is our new charity of choice :lol:

Yes, ours too. My daughter was diagnosed 2 years ago, but I think I was in denial for a long time.
