Yep both Crohn's hubby and son, they use a T-Sal shampoo and triamcincolone acetonide ointment on the skin which seems to help. Always worse with a flare and seems to come up with a change in the season as well

I have dermatitis and sebohrric(scalp) dermatitis. Dermatologist said it was bad. I had it so bad my skin was scaly and flaking off all over my back and lotion burned because of cracks in the skin. It was red all over my back. Steroid spray did nothing. It calmed down on its own and now I just have small patches on my arms and rib cage. Showering makes it worse. So a few patches isn't so bad if you think about it. Just reduce your showers , avoid pools( chlorine), avoid lotion with alcohol.

No the few patches on legs dont bother me just my scalp. my hair is falling out and thick scales that bleed. Doesn't help that i don't feel confident as it is after pred weight gain left me with really really bad stretch marks and now my scalps falling off

Scalp dermatitis needs to be washed off with an special shampoo. My son has used derma rest which is over the counter. Mine went away after awhile. It was like a flare up.my scales didn't bleed unless I scratched and showering made my skin worse but on my son , his scalp had to be washed with the acid based shampoo to remove the scaling. If a person scratches the dermatitis bacterial infections can happen but dermatitis should be treated by using gentle soap, no perfumes, gentle detergents, avoiding irritants like wool, chlorine, and hot showers which dry the skin out or prolonged baths.I saw a dermatologist and this is what the recommended and the steroid spray did nothing. If you haven't had a biopsy you should. My hair fell out pretty bad when I was in my flare up. You could see my scalp on the sides. Hopefully you will get these things under control and you won't have to worry about it . I know it sucks. Prednisone gave me Cushing's disease after just two months. Better now but I looked horrible.
