Hi ANYA SMYTHE!
You can check out the forum wiki on Short Bowel Syndrome <--- here. Unfortunately diarrhea is common if not expected. Is he able to take anything like Lomotil to help slow things down or does it not work at all? Hopefully he's taking supplements and having regular blood work to see if he's low or deficient in any nutrients like vit. A, C, D, E, B12, Iron, folic acid, Calcium, potassium, magnesium and zinc (sorry if I forgot any, there are so many). Even being low can give symptoms of a deficiency like fatigue, aches in muscles or joints, headaches, dizzy spells, fainting etc etc.
I don't have SBS but have had a resection where my cecum and ileocecal valve were removed along with a little small and large intestine making me more prone to having diarrhea. Lomotil is able to help me a little but I'm not so sure about SBS.
