I'm curious if anyone has use MM by it self with no other meds. I'm currently on Humira and preds. I been smoking everyday and it seem to keep everything at bay at the moment, crossing finger. Not to sure if I should stop Humira until I see my G.I. next month.:yfaint:

I do, sort of. I take Asacol daily for inflammation. I take Humira specifically for fistulas. I don't feel like the Humira is doing anything right now, but the Asacol definitely still works for me.

On weekends or vacations I stop taking Asacol and stick with MM. I actually form solid/hard stools when I do this. It is a miracle drug, I tell you. I'm so excited for its future.

I'd wait to talk to the doctor. They may suggest quitting Pred before Humira or something like that.

Good stuff Francis!

I just recently pickup Cannatonic CBD bud and let me tell you it works really well and doesn't give you that crazy buzz high. It was 10% CBD and 6% THC.

Alright i'll just try to stop my preds first. I'm tapering 5mg off every week.

Although I am currently undiagnosed I have been battling something that has all of the Crohn's symptoms for years now, and have tried several meds... none worked and in fact they made me worse. Every time I use MJ I pretty much go into remission and am almost normal! Unfortunately, I am very-low income and cant afford it sometimes... and when I try to go without, my symptoms come back within a month. They include severe bloating, gas, bloody diahrea, passing blood, passing mucus, mucus in stools, bowl incontinence... etc. etc... For me MJ is the difference between being able to function normally within society, being able to hold a job, enjoy life, and so on vs living as a complete shut-in and spending at least 15minutes out of every hour on the toilet!

Also... I prefer to vaporize, as I am a non-smoker otherwise, and prefer not to smoke... this eliminates the toxins present during combustion:)

Mm only! Yup. 9 years ailing, never been on heavy pharmaceuticals for my crohn's. Only had diagnosis about three years ago and by that point I had figured out what worked for me well enough that I didn't even consider the nasty drugs. I smoke everyday and it keeps the symptoms at bay, plain and simple. If/when I have a flare up starting, I eat hash oil capsules, de-carboxylated hash oil in a gel cap. 1.0 gram of oral oil DESTROYS my problems in twenty minutes. I wenr from having 2-3 week long flare ups for months to now, I might have an iffy bm in the morn once or twice a week, the start of a flare up every couple of few months. But I am making it they the day, and killing the flare ups with cannabis, nothing else. It can be done, you don't need the drugs...

How often you smoke a day. Oh man with hash oil, I took two rice grain size hash oil and it messed me up for like 12 hours lol.

Lol, I've a heavy tolerance. Eat a hash oil cap sand that's all I do for the day. I'm in an industry where I can get away with smoking before work and at lunch. I smoke 4-5 grams of flower a day. I grow /make my own medicine. Yay California!

Revreationally I would be smoking anyways, I know for a fact there is a more "full affect" with smoking flowers over vaping or using concentrates. There are many cannabinoids that aren't activated until combustion temps.... edibles affect me similar to opiates. Lethargy ensues and I don't leave the house. Eating debarbed hash oil is the fastest way for me to consume a huge amount of medicine immediatly.

Cannabinoids can be decarboxylated in advanced in the oven then vaporized if you care enough about activating every single cannabinoid, the flash points of most cannabinoids can be easily attained with all vaporizers currently available on the market.

Smoking is a HUGE health deterrent, for daily usage I really can't recommend it. It is however much more practical (sadly).

Not about to argue about the negatives of smoking over vaping. Just stating what works best/easiest for me. Cannabis has been used medically and in ceremony for thousands of years, it was likely one of the first cultivated crops by man. The vaporizer has been a pretty recent invention. Primitive ppl to advanced culture SMOKED and ingested cannabis and cannabis resins for a long time with no I'll effect. Smoking pot does NOT cause cancer, emphysema, heart diease, or the myriad other issues connected to TOBACCO USE. Certain terpenes in cannabis are known to act as bronchio dialtors and expectorants, in short, smoking cannabis can help to counteract I'll lung effects of other things you put in your body. There is a lot of REALLY EXCITING cancer and cannabis research going on right now, along with cannabis and ibs research. We are slowly re-accepting what our ancestors knew about the plant. That its Good for you.

Need easily digestible protein? Packed with every vitamin and amino acid that your body needs to operate every day? Hemp seed.

There's no need to argue. A lot of people come in this board to inquire about cannabis in general and many are inexperienced with it. I feel it's important and bears repeating that combustion deposits a lot of unneeded material in your lungs which causes constant scarring and opens up the respiratory system to a myriad of potential problems. And all that extra material has no benefit at all on your health, it's 100% unnecessary added stress on your immune system which must constantly clean up the crap that combustion leaves behind.

Inexperienced users who are reading these threads to evaluate their options should know smoking is choosing practicality over a smarter, healthier choice. And that's their choice to make of course, and I'm not attacking your preference. I simply advocate for informed choices. Vaporization is indeed a new technology versus combustion, that is why it's important these options be mentioned and discussed.

:) just my opinion! I do feel strongly that anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to see if cannabis may be the answer, seek that opportunity! Wether it be smoking, vaping, eating. Everyone will have very different results with each method of ingestion! Me personally have been smoking a lot, for long enough that the vapor doesn't "medicate" for me, gets me stoned lol. But that's the distinction I was making from my experience, that I feel there is a more full therapeutic effect from combustion (and of course unwanted byproducts add well! :) ). Thanks for discussing, I also believe that all sides should be openly discussed for those doing their own research.
Oh, and I was specifically making the "decarbed" point with the oil because it's that heat activation that enables it to be orally active. As opposed to eating raw hash oil, where most makers avoid heat in the process.

Oral administration is the best method for medicating there's no doubt about it.

My preferred method is now with an alcohol based tincture (Green Dragon extract). It's a solvent extraction method in 94% alcohol like Everclear or Global. It's more work than making oil, but sublingual administration of an alcohol based tincture produces results in SECONDS, almost as fast as inhalation.

I also went into remission after 35 years of hell. I use no other meds except B12 injections. I can no longer use prednisone or any of the biologicals. Those drugs caused many problems for me after so many years of use. I wish you the best!

Very interesting thread!
I just wanted to add something my husband's oncologist told him about smoking or vaping cannabis. He was very supportive and encouraging of him using it but he strongly cautioned him against inhaling it in any way. He told my husband that one of the problems with doing that was you could ingest spores or other nasties that way which might be present.
Just fwiw ~
