Are nurofen or panadol safe?

I dunno about nurofen but panadol are definately fine - in fact my GI prescribed me some in case my pain came back - so go a head and pop a couple of those!

It depends... Nurofen contains ibuprofen, which may irritate your stomach, and if you are taking methotrexate will screw it badly. So it depends.

Panadol contains paracetamol. Which you can overdose on very easily if you are taking any other paracetamol containing preparations....

You dont say what else you are taking.

Nurofen is generally a big no-no. I have been told many times that the only pain killer I should be taking is paracetamol unless otherwise prescribed or cleared with my GI.

This is exactly what I have been told too.

Likewise, I've been told to strictly take paracetemol and stay the hell away from nurofen, aspirin or anything else. Which is a shame, because aspirin works a lot better than anything else for me.

My doctor prescribes me Tramadol to deal with period pain or I know, as others have said, paracetemol is ok
