Are probiotics good for you? I have Crohns and I am being told from friends to try probiotics. I have heard of Align...but not sure if is a good thing to take. Thanks:Flower:

Probiotics can help boost your immune system, especially if your gut flora has been compromised by use of antibiotics.

Be careful with "advice" from friends. I have lots of friends and colleagues who try to give me nutrition advice for Crohn's even though they no nothing about disease and their advice comes from a book or a magazine. (Some of them don't realize I have a nutrition degree). Don't completely discredit what they say, they obviously care, but make sure you do your own research and discuss with your doc or a dietician if you are unsure.

You might try doing a search on the web sight for probiotics. Many report that they help greatly. Others not so much.

One thread on this:

"Best Probiotics?"

Something else you might take a look at is the SCD support group. They use diet changes, and eat probiotic rich foods to help with their IBD. Here is KWalkers popular write up on the diet.

Good luck!
