Are These Fissures?

Hello,
My husband also suffers with a recurring abscess & from time to time gets what he describes as small ulcer type sores around his anus? The DR's have yet to see these but are they fissures?

Bmwife: Those don't really sound like fissures. Those would be more like cuts in the skin that get irritated. He may have skin tags.

Is your husband on any medication to deal with his perianal disease?

those don't seem like fissures, but a lot more like fistulas. abscesses often turn into a fistula which is an inflamed track from inside the anal track to the skin outside the anus. where it opens and releases puss and blood is very much like a chronic ulcer that won't ever heal.
