I was just diagnosed in March with Crohn's. I've been working with my GI trying to get to remission. Pred works great but 6-mp is causing liver damage. We were just going to schedule Remicade. As a matter of fact, I just got the negative TB test results Wednesday. Well it's all on hold now.

I had a heart attack Friday morning. I just got home from the hospital about 3:00 today. The discharge from the hospital took about 3 hours because we had to coordinate all of my meds with all of my doctors. The hosp doc had to call my GI, the Cardiologist, the OB/GYN, the endocrynogolist and my primary doc just so that I could leave the hospital.

They are concerned about bleeding especially since I will be on blood thinners for a minimum of a year.

I'm struggling with this because I just want to feel better and I'm too young to have heart problems. I'm only 40.

ARGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Holy crap! Glad you are OK! Heart Attack at 40 is too young! I wish you a speedy recovery.

So sorry to hear of your troubles. I can definitely sympathize - I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I turned 40 also, then diabetes 3 months later due to the steroids, and now this year (I'm 42 now) with lupus after a 13 day hospital stay (9 days in the ICU on a ventilator) and surgery to drain fluid from my lungs and heart! Getting old is rough, isn't it? I'm still trying to get into remission from the Crohn's, too. Hang in there; maybe if you get to start the Remicade soon, it will be the one that works for you. Hope you feel better soon!
