Hi, does anyone take a b12 shot or under the tongue? I am getting my b12 checked next week at the GI, and am worried since 12 inchs of small bowel were removed that I am not getting enough B12. I am very avtive and feel great since resecton of Feb 16th. Thanks! Billy

I got b12 at the hosp along with my iron infusions for 6 weeks. Now I am taking the shots at home, once per month.

Very, very common for Crohnie's to be deficient in b12!

I lost my colon and a bit of small intestine and my B12 levels are fine without shots or supplements

So you never know

Although I still take them orally, a friend with CD has to have a monthly shot after having most of her intestines removed.

Roo had 59cms of small bowel removed and has a B12 injection every 3 months.

Hi, I have been getting B12 shots every 3 months now for about 3 yrs, I was only diagnosed with chrons in aug last yr - I tend to think the fact I had B12 deffeciency should have alerted me to something else going on as I was eating all the right foods to gain vitamins but body was just not absorbing / holding on to them. I have not had any surgery. The B12 shots are rather painful but I feel like they give me a real energy boost. I am due one in 2 weeks and for the past few weeks I have been eally drained and exhausted so they defo work for me!
