Starting a 3 week run on entocort to stop the latest flare. I also have inflammation between my stomach and colon, will entocort work there? I know it's for the colon and small intestine.

My GI says this helps in 24 hours but all the research shows it takes weeks? How long till entocort starts helping your flare?

I just started up entocort again yesterday as well, since I refuse to go on pred. I know it can take over a month to work, but hopefully it's much shorter! I can't take anymore of this flare, and would hate to go on anything stronger. Let me know how it goes!

Entocort didn't do anything good for me. It actually just gave me really bad diarrhea. Not just watery poop, but cramps so bad I would cry in the bathroom. I went to the hospital, in fact. HOWEVER, this didn't start until I was weaning.

I've not had great luck with Pred either though. I've taken it twice, and both times, it just makes me an emotional, constipated mess.

The first time I tried it last year it did absolutely nothing for me. I refuse to take pred since it turns me into a babbling psychotic mess with blood pressures in the 200s. My doc wanted to give it one more go before moving onto stronger meds..gahhh, so frustrating

I'm also concerned because I still have pain after a week and entocort only works on the ileocolic area. I also have inflammation in other areas which won't be helped by the steroid.

It took a full month for me to get any benefit from Entocort. I'm still on it almost two years later... Have tried to come off it twice but flared up again.
Maybe give it a little longer to work its magic.
