Been for my follow up after my colonoscopy and mri scan today, Got told that there was severe inflamation in my large bowel at the caecum, ascending colon and into the terminal ileum , and slightly on the transverse colon, aswell as a narrowing in my small bowel. and lots of polyps and other things, The ibd nurse said she was shocked im feeling as well as i am lol.

Anyway ive had to start on 40mg of pred which i was trying to avoid arghhh, hate the stuff. But im also upping the aza, despite my lympcyte count being low he says hes been to meetings about research that shows staying on aza should be ok so long as the white cell count and other things stay ok. I hope i can get back to being on the aza properly again as i felt great when i was on a high dose. The annoying thing is i know i dont feel great and it will without doubt make me better. but in the past ive only been started on high doses of pred when ive been in hospital really unwell. and at the moment id rather try other things.

Hopefully ill get off the pred as soon as i can and not have to put up with the lack of sleep and rage for too long!

Try having the pain and the side effects. No matter how well the pred will treat the crohn's, it still can't fix adhesions.

Good luck. And keep an eye on your cortisol levels. I'm starting to notice some symptoms of Cushings Syndrome.
