I have noticed that when I am inflammed or bloated I end up with severe back pain. Most of my pain is located in my kidney area. If I am feeling pain in my lower right side I also have pain in my back on the right.

Just curious if it is related.

I have the same pains in my right side. My GI said they are "reflective pains" (Sorry translating from greek) He basically said that the pain from my bowel reflects on the muscles of my back.

I noticed that the most intense pain is before I visit the bathroom and after I eat, I have a narrowing on the right side in my bowel so it may be connected and he may be right

For the back pain, I had a MRI done that showed I was suffering with degenerative arthuritis in lower back, they say that was caused from the crohns.

My back pain feels deep. It doesn't feel like muscle pain. But I can relate to a degree as I do have issues with L4, L5 & S1 in my spine.

I get quite bad back pain when I am flaring. My lower back just aches, especially if I have to sit for too long. I've always believed it is due to the crohns, because I'm only 21 and have no other issues affecting my back.

I have ankylosing spondylitis which is a form of inflammatory arthritis that goes along with crohn's. it attacks the si joints, spine and ribs.

I have back pain too on and off, I've mentioned it to my doctor before and at the time I was on pred and he said it was just the effects of that, I still get it now though so I am going to ask my IBD nurse when I next see them.
