Back to Pred?

Well, been having pain for a few weeks now as the steroid dosage drifts down from 40 to now 5mg... but not until TODAY did I have two episodes of D.
Had to call the doc and she wants me tested for c.diff, and if negative, she's bumping me back to 40mg of pred.
I'm a bit disappointed, I've been hating pred symptoms and pred withdrawal. But I hate D even worse...
Wish I wasn't steroid dependent!

Sounds a lot like me! I came off my first course of Pred and was more ill than before I was diagnosed.

I'm now on my second course, started on 40mg like you and on 15mg at the moment. Dropping to 10mg tomorrow but not yet feeling any flare symptoms apart from pain which I'm hoping is from my colonoscopy, although my inflammation count is way up again.

Have they talked to you about an alternative treatment?
