Hi everyone. I know I haven't been on here for a long time but yet again, I'm on another treatment regimen!
I had to leave my first year of college because my Crohn's made it impossible for me to live on campus. Ugh! I got a little bit better after I left. I started work again and was doing well! A few weeks ago I developed a major UTI and being the hard headed girl that I am, I downed bottles of cranberry juice and water and eventually, it went away!
I woke up one morning with a severe pain on my side. I went to work and eventually gave in and needed to go to the ER. I was admitted with a severe UTI and a kidney infection. The contrast catscan showed major inflammation-surprise!- My crohn's is flaring. AGAIN. :ybatty:
I may have forgotten to mention-I have no insurance...
After I got out of the hospital I went to MaineCare (through the department of Health and Human services of Maine) and they cannot cover me until I move into my apartment in a month! :frown:
So in the 10 years that I have had Crohn's, I have been through Prednisone, Pentasa, Prednisone again, Merceptapurine, Prednisone for the 3rd time and now-as soon as my doctor makes it so I can have healthcare, I will be on Remicade. For right now-I'm on 50 Mg prednisone (for the fourth time!) to keep myself sane!
Although in the mean time-I now permanently wear the purple ribbon for Crohn's
The tattoo is on my arm, right below my wrist
I would LOVE to feel better so I can move into my apartment and get back to school!
