hi all,
just wanted some feed back been having severe constipation? lately am taking laxido x4 sachets a day,and olsalazine 500mg x2 a day and on a implant put me into menopause. The problem is using the laxido but am getting bowel blockages every day now so have to use enema,s every day otherwise have to use 40ml morphine as in so much pain.would like any advice you can give:ybatty:

One question I'd check on would be the combo of meds you're on and their side effects. However, have you talked to your doctor or an advice nurse about this? They might have some ideas as well. Good luck. Xxxx

Have the docs ruled out a possible stricture or blockage? Have you had any work up yet for the constipation? There could be a whole host of reasons to suddenly have severe constipation. I'd check with a doc asap.

I have severe constipation due to slow transit. I am currently seeing a new GI who has started doing various work up. I'm impatient that things aren't going faster, but folks here are giving me the support and have shared that it takes time to go through the process. I recently had a colonoscopy that showed granula mucosa (inflammation) throughout my entire colon. The inflammation probably isn't helping things.

Right now my doc is working with me to find just the right meds to get my colon moving along. The meds cause bloating, gas, nausea etc. Some of the pain has gotten better and some hasn't. The constipation has become a quality of life issue. It's hard to take meds when I'm scheduled to do something because I don't know how bad the cramping, pain, bloating, nausea etc will be or when it will hit. Meds don't work as fast on me as the labels state they should.

Please keep updated. Blessings!:ghug:
