Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone knows the correct path to place a formal complaint about a doctor?

I went in for exploritory surgery yesterday for a fistula shown on a MRI i had.
The doctor not only denied following what the MRI said but also told me put up with the pain and move on with life.....

The fact that many of you have colitis symptoms as myself, i found what the doctor said to me as very rude and ignorant.
I dont think anyone with colitis should be told to deal with it and move on....

Sometimes i wish these symptoms were contagious.... to not just make an undertsanding of the pain and issues in which we encounter everyday.... but how difficult being told "to deal with it and move on" is to intake....

Has I said in a previous post I wrote... their degree certainly does not depend on their ability to show empathy to other... I'm glad it's not the majority... but I have encountered a few professional seriously lacking of empathy and/or compassion.

To answer your question, there must be a specific way in Australia;here, you can contact the "collège des médecins". Pretty much that is the organisation that surround the doctors graduation. It also makes sure they respond to what is expected by their profession. I guess their might be something similar in Aussie?

Or, considering that your health care system is public, I think it would be possible to make a complaint via the ombudsman but I found this on the way:

I think it should provide you the informations you need.!

Good luck

Thank you, after thinking about it.... I can't do anything about it.
Sadly it falls under the Dunning Kruger effect I guess....
They are superior for doing nothing good...
I'm over it.... Just come to terms with the fact that I'm screwed I think...

well it depends on what country you are in, I am consulting a lawyer because a general practicioner gave me ritalin after I told him I took adderall, he did not even call my psych dr to verify my meds nor did he consult a psych dr there at the hospital, it took me a month after my discharge to get to where I could speak without stuttering...

he went out of his field, adderall, ritalin, etc... those meds can only be prescibed by a psych dr not a GP, im still having flashbacks to the horrors i experienced with the ritalin.

You start by writing a letter of complaint to the doctor involved. If there is no satisfactory resolution then in NSW you move onto the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).
