I think I'm going into a flare. My pain isn't excruciating yet but it's progressing. I was given Bentyl for times like this. My Humira prescription expired and I was due for a shot last week. I'm mad at myself because I probably could've prevented this.

So I've been taking 2 Bentyl, 2 ibuprofen, and a peppermint pill every 6 hours. It seems to be dulling it some but it's still there. The pain, I mean. I'm leaving my GI a voicemail tomorrow but he's only in on Tuesdays. So I'm willing to bet I won't have the Humira for at LEAST a week more.

I'm supposed to see him in July for a 6 month checkup. I'm trying to decide if I should just try to get in ASAP...

What all can I do for a flare? Before I always Just suffered. Does any of your GIs give actual pain meds? Mine won't but the ER does. I just hate going to the ER so much. I'm already over my head in medical debt. What's your experience with Bentyl? would taking 3 hurt me? Does anyone else take peppermint?

I promise I'm not just trying to get pain meds but I honestly don't understand why he never gives them for flares. Or is that most GIs? Regardless, this will be the last time I'll be seeing him.

I don't have much advice, but I wouldn't take ibuprofen. It can cause more bleeding & more issues....I was told to never take ibuprofen or aspirin again. Maybe try some medical marijuana for the pain (if it's legal where you are) until you get ahold of your doc. My dr puts me on prednisone when I flare but I don't know how much it actually helps

I have been put on the maximum dose of bentyl before and it was 4 tablets or 40 mgs three to four times a day. In other words, 3 shouldn't be a problem. It does only help so much and expect some dry mouth and maybe a little dizziness as you increase the dose.

Thank you. I'll try 3. my vision has been getting blurry with just 2.

Thank you. I'll switch to Tylenol then. Unfortunately, MM isn't legal here (Ohio) yet. I can't wait until it's legalized.
