Ok what's the best bag for active people,I'm using a double seal one which has extra sticky bit round wafer,it's great for not leaking but only lasts a day especially in summer.whats your fav and why?

I wear a coloplast sensura 1 piece, in size mini. It's the smallest bag, I wear coloplast elastic brava tape around it which is the most comfortable flexible tape. It's the bag I've wore ever since my surgery. And although I don't need the tape, if I've ever had a leak from the bag, I've noticed it through the see through tape well before its had a chance to leak onto my clothes. I feel very secure and I'm going in my first holiday in 3 weeks time since my surgery I'm quite confident that im not going to have problems in the pool and waterparks. When it comes to choosing a bag, the smaller the better, it doesn't mean you're emptying more. My bag can last up to 5 days.

I'll tell you a tip I got from a friend.

I used (before I got my reversal) Benzoin. You put it all around your stoma where the seal will be and it seals REALLY GOOD. Lok it up, they use it for helping stich's stick after surgery. It comes off really EZ and worked SOOO GOOd for me, try it. it only cost about $10 a bottle.

I can attest to this. I had surgery last Friday to drain an abscess by my stoma. They put that stuff on there in surgery. Yesterday was changing day and when I went to pull it off I couldn't believe how well it was adhered to my skin.

I use the coloplast sensura 2 piece. I've tried the 1 piece which are a bit better if i go swimming and want something with a lower profile, but otherwise I feel a bit more secure with the 2 piece. I put strips of opsite flexifix around the flange and it works fine for me.

I am currently using the wellend convex flex bag. It sticks great, but I also use the coloplast tapes just to be on the sure side. I really like that the bag is covered, but it does have a split in the cover where you can check on your stoma. I have used coloplast, they sounded really crinkly under my clothes, and Dansac, these were great, but the adhesive and my skin chemistry produced a funny odour. I was always bugged by it. The dansac also stuck really well. I tend to use the one piece as they are a lower profile and do not show as much as the two piece do.

Best idea would be to ring up the suppliers and ask for samples, and give a few a go. I'm not sure where you live, but there is a sticky with the contact details for the companies in different countries. Its a good place to start, and the suppliers are usually really happy to help you out and offer suggestions.

Good Luck
Janette

I use the welland one piece convex too. I also have a very high output and need to change every day. I use the brava flex tape for extra security when I think I need it and also to cover the sides of the flange which get wet and gooey after showering.
They are marketed as being for active wear but i'm not super active other than a daily walk. The company will send you samples to try.

Benzoin, or Friars balsam sounds like a miracle for those with adhesion problems. Thanks Pops. :)
