Hi Everyone,
My son's Crohn's was mild at first with only growth as an issue. He recently developed a perianal abscess that hey now believe is linked to his ileum being inflamed. He is increasing his pentasa to 2000 mg b.i.d. and adding in enotcort 9mb for the first time.
Has anyone had abscesses due to a crohns flare and success with entocort? They are talking about remicade as well. This scares me because I know the largest risk group for developing that rare and aggressive cancer from it is teenage males. My son is about to turn 15.
Any feedback would be great. Has anyone heard of this rare cancer from remicade? As you all know, just trying to balance risks.
I am typing this from my dad's ICU. He had stroke last week that is severe and I am dong PT with him. I am a physical therapist. This was hard news to hear and I am not in a good place to begin with so I need help making decisions.
Thanks,
Nancy
