hi guys, had colonoscopy yesterday, apparently it went good/looked "pretty good". But today I had a bit of blood in the loo, I know that could be expected if they removed polyps or something but there was no mentioning of polyps or any biopsies been taken from the colon when I got my little sheet back. I know he took a biopsy from the endoscopy because he wrote that down. JUst wondering if its normal? I'm pretty sure I had some on the colonscopy before this one but I was flaring then I think as I was bleeding before hand where as now I'm supposably in remission.

P.ps

Diacol pill prep made life soooo much easier.

I just had one today. My doc said there was a high chance for bleeding and not to worry. He put me on a soft diet for a week to help with potential bleeding.

No prob! After reviewing the more generic note...it did say that the doc should be contacted if you do see new or increased bleeding. Its prob nothing, but you might want to call him, especially if its a lot.

Bleeding is common after a scope. You just need to watch the amount. Or the duration.
It seems common among folks.. you see bleeding from that area, and it grips you in fear. I can tell you first hand, a person can lose a lot of blood that way, without immediate risk. At my worst, I was losing about a liter of blood every 2 - 3 days, and that went on for months. Mind you, I'm not recommending it as a natural lifestyle. Just putting it out there that bleeding after a scope is to be expected, and that if protracted or extensive, you should contact a doctor. But, it is not cause to go out and update your will, okay?
