Has anyone tried anything for bloating that works?
I get up in the morning and get dressed. By noon my pants are tight.
By evening, I am undoing them.
I'm not eating too much! It's all crohn's bloat. :stinks:
Anyone?

I don't have answers for you, but wanted to say that I feel for you because I experience the same thing. I start out with a relatively flat stomach first thing in the morning, and as the day goes on I bloat out more and more. It seems to happen regardless of what or how much I eat. If I'm having a bad day and mostly just drink liquids, I still bloat out like crazy by the end of the day. I just got out of a 2 year remission and I was bloated pretty much every day while in remission, too, so it doesn't seem to be a flare thing either. So yeah, I don't have answers, but I really feel for you and I'll be watching this thread in the hopes that someone will have the answer!

I go to see my gastro the end of this month. I just pray to God there is something to help this.
Crohn's is a pain by itself. WE don't need or want the bloat too.
If no one can say, I'll be back on the 31st with what the doc had to say.
Thanks to all who replied.

I really hope someone has input on this because im a thin girl but am constantly bloated and looking prego :(

Im a lad and also look pregnant :p

Ive found the best thing that helps me is not to eat too late (<4hrs before bed). I also find certain foods and drinks to make me bloated (fizzy drink, beer, corn and wholemeal)

I drink peppermint tea that does help calm it down, and Ive heard charcoal tablets help as well. My stomach has got much better over the years after tryign these out but there are some days that I still become really bloated for no reason at all, I guess thats something we just have to expect

It's almost 3:00 pm and I am already bloated. I don't eat after 7:00 pm now.
I won't accept having to be bloated.
This bloat is all new so there has to be a reason for it.

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy Tuesday. Doctor didn't really want to discuss my other issues until after this.
I don't normally have bloat but this flare up has been hell.
Maybe the bloat will stop after the colonoscopy and I'm back on track again.

I'm in the same boat. New, recent bloating with no change in diet. I'm down 5 lbs from a month ago yet pants that fit me then are tight today. :eek2:

funny, sometimes I'll eat to MOVE the gas along - vicious cycle. :ybatty:

Hey guys, Yep, I look like I about to have a baby. You know its bad when it gets hard to breath. Usually this tells me that I need to take more of my sulphasalazine or asacol. I tend to think that its the medication that causes this sometimes. And you would think that bloating means lots of gas but for me, its just the opposite. I know that sugar and pop blows me up good. To much meat does the same. NSAIDS or ibu starts it off with a bang so I avoid those. Bloating without gas has to be inflammation (for me). When I feed my flora (roughrage) it seems to help. For some this would be a killer but for me I try to eat raw with minimum meats and such. Good luck everyone, let me know if you find something that works!

I've been doing 4 asacol twice a day rather than 3/3times a day. Maybe I should go back to the 3 times a day. its just such a pain to remember in the middle of the day.

Set your phone alarm to remind you OR better yet, ask your doctor to put you on once a day Lialda.
It's the exact same drug.

Okay everyone! Here's the answer you've been waiting for.
Fiber! High fiber diet.
I for one can't stand beans, pinto, navy, lima, kidney, any of them! YUCK!
The texture of them gags me-always has.
I'm now eating high fiber cereals and taking Metamucil.
Guess what? I am not bloated any more!
Praise the Lord!

Sugar may be your enemy but it's my best friend.
I have had a sweet tooth all my life and that is one thing I'll never give up.
I buttoned a blouse today I couldn't before because of the bloat.
Oh yea, I am not over weight because of my love for sugar.
5'4" and 128 lbs.

I was a whopping 225 lbs and took it off over 20 years ago. I wrote a book on how I did it.
Carbs are not a problem either. I'd have nothing to eat without carbs and sugar!

Yep, it works after a little while. I've also found the scd diet is a lifesaver. My fistula has not bubbled in 2 days, my inflammation has decreased. I'm sticking with that for now cause I'm improving. SUGAR looks like our enemy. I'll keep you posted. But I sure miss those sugar buns and homer donuts. Thanks for letting me know about the fiber. (It might even help more if its without the sucrose!)

I'm thinking it is empty carbs (white bread) and carbonation for me. And sugar.

I cannot delete sugar from my diet, like Teagal, its my addiction. Moderation - I've also lost a lot of weight eating sugar and carbs - is the key.

I think i need a food diary . . . like I dont have enough to do in my life. :/

I actually eat a high fiber diet, currently. I have Kashi cereal every morning for breakfast. I then tend to stick to carbs with whole grains in them. I COULD eat more veggies . . .

I keep track of my food at a website:
