Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on here. I was diagnosed with Crohn's in January 2012. I have very mild Crohn's and have been doing alright. Today, I noticed blood in my stools after two BMs.

Also, I've been having sharp pains in my stomach for the past couple of hours.

What should I do!?

Nate:
Sorry to hear you are having symptoms.
Each person is different.
My daughter bleeds a lot with her crohns because it is located in her colon/rectum.
Pain can be assoiciated with a flare or a flare and something more.
If the pain is close to a 10, go to the hospital. they will run blood tests, a cat scan and hopefully a c.diff. No matter what, contact your GI asap.

the GI told us that it is not unusual to catch a bug and have it cause inflammation but may subside in a month. she is also running a c.diff to rule that out.

Not a bad idea to tweek your diet a bit if you havent already. More bland foods.

also, add iron to your diet especially while you are bleeding. It is easy to get anemic and takes a long time to build your red blood cells back up.

wishing you well and your daughter is SOOOOO adorable. :)

P.S. I am not totally convinced my daughters symptoms will be gone in a month, but she will get her next Remicade in a couple of weeks.
