My apologies for taking a while to respond. I've not had a lot of energy lately, thanks to a lack of haemoglobin and trying to establish a new food routine. My gastroenterologist has put me on to a four-week course of prednisolone starting at 2 x 25 mg tablets per day for the first week and then going down to a half a 25 mg tablet per day in the fourth week.
I'm well into my second week now, I seem to have a lot of ups and downs, lows and highs, partly caused by depression (I've had personal problems over the past five or six years, and now Crohn's disease), and I suspect also partly from being on the prednisolone. The gastroenterologist told me that the preds can make you feel energetic, had a number of days where I felt like I could to do lots of work, and I try to, and hit a brick wall because I don't have the energy resources to call on. I also have days where I can't focus or concentrate on anything, which is very annoying.
I think one of my biggest problems at the moment is trying to figure out how to get enough proteins into myself on this resticted diet, I am losing weight at a rapid pace, a couple of kilos in the last two or three weeks. I'm not not sure if I should call the GI and tell him.
Thanks for listening,
Graham
