I get my bloods checked regularly and never think anything of it. I went on Monday and whilst in with the nurse my GP called her and asked her to put some extra ticks in the boxes for checking it. Then this morning I got a call from the doctors to ask me to go back in tomorrow for retesting and when I asked why the receptionist said she isnt trained in reading blood tests...sigh! Anyway, this has never happened before and I have been on Asacol for over 2 years has anyone been recalled? Should I be worried?

Do you have any idea what they were testing you for? Or what they usually test you for?
It could be any number of things but I would say its unlikely you need to worry!
It could be a deficiency of some kind as we are prone to them.
It could be your inflammation levels to see how well the medication is working.
I think they often test liver and kidney function as well.

hi, yes its the usual kidney, liver blood counts and so on. I wasnt very well last week and I think that might be contributing to the tests. My husband said I am not allowed any more wine as its my liver thats failing :)

I have been taken off medication before due to bad blood results, but never with Asacol. Maybe long term use of it is not as good as I thought t was. I really hope they dont mess around with meds as I cant face that again
