Need Advise and want to vent. More than two weeks ago, my son was send for Prometheus test. Today I found out, blood was send to the wrong lab for some test that does not have nothing to do with Prometheus test. I don't know yet if any test were done and for what. They said they will see if they have any blood left to send that for the right test. My concerns are: Will the blood still be good? will they do just any test to get out of the problem, do I call the insurance? Right know I will not trust any results they give me. What will you do?:confused2::ymad::confused:

:ghug:..I'm not sure what they'll do....They might do another test.

When i took my daughter to the ER last week she had two blood tests as the nurse put the wrong lids on the bottles the first time.:yfaint:

I would call your insurance since they may not pay for the second test.
Also Prometheus test blood work is only good for one week I believe
If you google their site for the ansyer test .

I was thinking the same things as MLP - but would argue if your insurance won't pay for a second test, then the individuals/company responsible for the sending it to the wrong lab cover the second test.

Yes, I think a call to the insurance company is in order, sounds like a second test should be run at their cost. How frustrating for you.

The blood may still be good if it has been stored correctly. The only reason I say that is because when Matt had his blood drawn it had to be sent to Sydney. Since there is only one place in NSW that does the testing there was always going to be a delay of about three weeks but then that ran us into the Christmas/New Year period...

So he had blood drawn on the 1st December and the GP didn't get the result until the 5th January. The GP rang the hospital just prior to Christmas so I know his blood wasn't tested until the New Year and the date the GP received the result wasn't just a delay in uploading results onto the computer.

I hope all works out well for you and with a minimum of hassle! Good luck!
