Blood work and Humira

Doc has me on combo therapy of Imuran and Humira, since April and May, respectively. He hasn't ordered lab work to check my levels- is this ok? How often should my blood levels be checked?

I was on Humira for several years and my doctor had my blood tested every 3 months. Hope Humira will work for you. It did me and I was also on Imuran. Unfortunately I had to change to Entyvio as my last CT showed the crohns now in the small intestine and the humira didn't seem to work on the inflammation. My best suggestion for the Humira is to let it warm up for about 30 minutes before you inject it. Good Luck!

Thanks, Grandma McB! I went for a check up last week and doc said, "see you In three months, unless you have any complications," and that's when I realized I had not been told to get labs done. I will have to call next week to double check.

My daughter has labs for Humira every 3 months BUT when she was on Imuran it was weekly for a number of weeks.

I would def. double check about labs for Imuran.

Thanks Pilgrim! I did speak with the nurses and they said doc has been just using my labs from an Iron Infusion study I've been participating in (weekly labs) instead of making me have more labs done and me having to pay additional co-pays.
