Hi everyone I'm 4 weeks post op now I'm getting around pretty good actually started back to work half days. I seem fine most of the time. I'm trying really hard to not take the pain pills but I'm really achy mostly in my lower back it's not like I've been hit or anything its a sore achy pain and it hurts am I going to have this pain forever or do things gradually get better. When I start to get up in the morning it hurts my whole body it aches pretty bad does anyone else have this?it suckes because then I have to take an oxycodone then I'm ok I hope it goes away aventually.

I'd suggest letting the doctor know to make sure its nothing. That said, I've had that post surgery a couple times (as i start doing more). It was just my lower back muscles spasming causing an enormous amount of pain. It goes away.

My back gave me the worst pain (even more than the 10-inch incision!) after colectomy. That pain went on for over 6 weeks, but it did go away.

Let your doctor know. Most likely it is nothing more than spasm, but it is always good to get it checked out.

I'll let her know when I go on the 28th I feel ok once I get moving around but today I was mopping the floor and my back started bothering me again.other then that my stoma is great no problems at all with it.

Really?? OK then I guess I better slow down a bit it seems I may be over doing it. I guess going to the fair yesterday was probably not a very good idea I'm my own enemy. Im going to slow myself down. I feal good for the most part I guess if I take it easy I'll feel even better 4 weeks from now. The back pain and body aches at night are probably from over doing it I just haven't felt this good in probably 20 years. I eat like every 30 minutes it's crazy but I'm not really gaining weight its strange.

Wow cleuger, my bowel surgery was not as extensive, but there was no way I could have mopped floors on gone to the fair! Bless you, did you go on rides?!! :ywow:

Its great that you are active and you are keen, but your body tells you if its not happy and it sounds like thats exactly what is doing. Heavy lifting, stretching etc should not take please for at least 3 months. Be kind to yourself. Wishing you a good recovery. :)

Ooh my. I'm glad you're feeling so good. Ya...you might want to ease up a bit on the physical activity.

I've been half dead for the last 10 years slowley bleeding out from ulcers on my bowel along with 20+ bathroom trips a day so now that I don't bleed anymore or live in the bathroom or feel like crap it feels amazing. I eat about every 30 minutes to an hour I'm always hungrey it feels so good everything feels great. I am going to slow down though and yes I did ride the ferris wheel I was to afraid to ride the gut tossing rides. Well that would explain the achy body. Ive learned my lesson.

Its so good to hear you're getting your life back. When you've been so sick for so long its easy to forget what healthy feels like.
