Lets make it short.
*Diagnosed when I was 12.
*Tried the 6 week liquid diet. No help
*Then steroids, temp fix.
*Tried 6 week liquid diet and steroids (VERY hard, because of the increased appetite). Again didn't work.
*Tried azathioprine. I had a reaction, and got acute pancreatitis from it.
*Operation at 14 years old.
*Went through delayed puberty, was able to be a teenager etc
*Had a few symptoms here and there, nothing too serious.
*Always was fairly skinny. About 8 stone (112 pounds) at around 16.
I had always been interested in bodybuilding, going to the gym as my grandad was a bodybuilder, and it passed on to my Dad. We had odd bits of weights in our garage (Attached pic). Basic equipment, but it got me started.
I got a few gains, nothing really that great. But it kept me busy.
About a year or so ago, I got really in to it. And discovered how important diet really is. Especially if you want to add muscle! It turns out you have to eat more than what your body needs. Obviously I had to eat even more than that because of Crohn's! I still probably don't eat enough now, but hey!
Well, present day. I have weighed my self at my heaviest yet. 12 stone 7! (177 pounds).
I've attached some pics, I took on my webcam hah! One of them is slightly edited as I had no lighting so I added an artificial light. But, as well as asthetically changed. My crohn's feels like it's under control! I'm eat every 2 - 3 hours. Good meals. Lots of protein. Wholemeals. Lots of water etc. And I feel it's really working for me.
You may not be in to bodybuilding. But I recommend that you give the diet a go. Look up a bodybuilding type diet, or message me!
