My colorectal surgeon and GI have been talking about sending me to a Crohns specialist in Boston (I live in New England). Does anyone have particularly good recommendations for someone there (if I go)?

I believe the CCFA websites has some recommended doctors. While these doctors are just ones who have donated money to the CCFA, that act alone should let you know that they have some awareness about IBD.

Also try and contact the local CCFA to see if they have any recommendations.

No offense to mikey but like I've mentioned in another thread...CCFA is no place to be getting recommendations.

 In my view recommendation means they support the Dr, would leave THEIR care with the dr, and in the dr's hands...well this isnt true, to be on the CCFA list you have to PAY 500 dollars a month, and to be a "Premier" which is supposed to make you seem more advanced maybe? is only 1000 dollars a month, and I dont know about the rest of you but I dont want my doctor based on how much he's donated. :ybatty:

By the way I've went through and looked for some reputable names from Teaching Hospitals and Universities that werent even on there.:confused2:

Best thing to do is if you already have a dr, get them to reccommend one because obviously you trust them, so should trust their recommendation, plus their in the area and would know this person....OR get reffered by your PCP, or if worst came to worst you can go to the local hospital's website, they should have a bio-graphy on each doctor, but keep in mind not all dr's are working for a hospital some are doing JUST private practive and might not be listed in the directory.
