Hi all,

The dr saw my MRI results and has ordered an ultrasound for me at the start of next month, however im not sure why. There was no part of the letter explaining what they found or if they did find anything just that they need be to have an ultrasound.

Anyone else had this happen? Does it mean they found something and just want a better look at a specific area? That's what we do in vet med!

Thanks in advance xx

It's possible that there is a question about something they saw on the MRI and want to get another view of. I had that happen with my liver - I have "nodules" (they were described as being like benign tumors) on my liver. They were initially found on CT scan, but that didn't get a very good look at them. So 6 months later, I had an MRI so that they could get a better look and determine for certain that they are benign. Then some months after that, I started having some pain in my upper abdomen near the area of my liver, so I had an ultrasound to check it out and see if the nodules were the culprit (they weren't; the pain was gastritis). Anyway, that would be my guess, that they might have seen something but aren't certain what it is and want to get a different view of it to be more sure of what they're looking at. I would of course ask the doctor to be sure. Good luck and I hope this gets you some answers!

I've had them to get a better look. Also had them to establish a baseline.
