Can 6MP induce remission?

I have been on Humira since Nov. Colonoscopy on Jan 13 showed complete remission. I had to stop injections for a month due to infection and after several weeks I began to have some symptoms (however, the joint pain side effects resolved) I went back on Humira. After about four weeks the side-effect joint issues returned and the Crohn's symptoms continued. The fatigue (one of my most debilitating symptoms) continues to worsen. A colonoscopy last week showed that the disease is back active again (just three months after complete remission). My choices are to go to weekly Humira or switch to 6MP.

I am leaning toward 6MP due to the terrible joint pain (I have difficulty walking or lifting anything) as well as the fact that for 2-3 days after Humira injections I feel exhausted and achey and this would mean that each week I would have 2/3 bad days and 4/5 up days but even on the up days would hurt when I stand, walk, fold laundry, play with the kids, etc.

Sorry to be so long-winded...

My question is...can 6MP get me into remission or is it only able to maintain remission once already there?

Any thoughts, ideas, information or experience would be greatly appreciated!

I havnt read that on it's own, 6mp has put anyone into remission, but what about both. My GI said, that with infliximab and humira, you need to be taking an imunesuppresant as well, such as azatgiroprine or 6mp ect. I'm on 6mp, beginning humira in a few weeks, but I'll be staying on both, just weaning the prednisalone. Maybe ask your GI to add 6mp without discontinuing the humira?
Best wishes with how it goes, hope you'll be back in remission either way:)
