hi there . diagnosed 18 months ago. was put on pred, weaned off that. started 150 aza, 5 months ago along with entocort. whenever i try and wean form 9mgs to 6mgs, giant flare. i dont think the imuran is doing a single thing. my relief comes from the entocort. about 3 hours after i take 9mg of ento i am functional again. ive been on 9mgs of ento for 5 months now and cant taper. my gi is aware and i see him dec 5. can ento be a long term thing because it works for me........

Well. I'm not sure about all doctors, but mine hasn't been excited about having me stay on steriods for long. Will admit that I've stayed on pred before for months. But, for the most part my doctors wanted me to be getting off them within a few weeks of being on them full dose. Should see what your doctor says about it though...

My doc had me on budesonide for over a year until a really bad flare up, then put me onto pred (which btw isn't working and I miss my budesonide) so I think entocort is ok. At least with my doc it is.

Haven't used this steriod. Does it come in smaller tablets? Can the tablets be cut? Discuss this chemist.

It is possible that schedule of 9, 6, 9, 6, would allow you to get to a lower amount?

Really just questions.

thanks! ive tried a taper of 9-6-9-6, three times now. in sept, oct and nov. by 72 hours i feel like im obstructing. takes a week to regroup again. i have tapered a month apart because ive been on imuran now as well and i keep hoping its starting to work. apparently not though...........
