Im 17 was diagnosed with crohns 1.2 years ago and have had 2 chronic anal fissures for the same 1.2 year period. The pain was just starting to be tolerable and i was having bowel movements 2 times day without much pain but still the blood and then bang. 1 month ago i was diagnosed with a perianal abscess. I am starting year 12 in 1 month and i am crying because i am not sure what to do. The abscess cleared up with the first course of antibiotics but as soon as i came off them it came back but this time on the 2nd course of antibiotics its still there. My surgeon discharged me until i see me crohns spec every 3 months because he doesnt want to operate on me because of the dangers with crohns but i dont think he understands the seriousness of the pain i cant walk after a bowel movement for 7 hours! I go to the toilet every 3 days because im scared to death of the pain. I CANT AND WONT LIVE LIKE THIS.

I just checked my anal abscess as a large gaping hole, its not bleeding but its burst i guess is that bad?

Hi TT. I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this :-( Some people say that they experience some relief from the pressure from the abscess when it bursts - are you? I haven't had a perianal abscess myself, but I would imagine keeping it clean and dry would be a priority if it's open. Do you use sitz baths at all? If you're worried about it, it might be worth seeing if you can see your GP or Crohn's doc.
I know you've had antibiotics - are you on any other Crohn's meds? Has any of your doctors suggested Remicade as a possible treatment?

Hi, TestTyrone. I am sorry to hear of your pain. I had/have an abscess burst that I thought was a hemmy. While the abscess is now leaking that horrible pain has gone. I am not as afraid as before which is a wonderful feeling. How are you feeling now?

Hey dude sorry your struggling, sympathy from another Aussie crohnie, my advice - call the centre of digestive diseases in Sydney, when you can try book in to see dr Borody. What crohns meds are you currently on?

Hey guys! I am on Azathioprine and Mesalazine. I dont take sitz baths however i do take regular hot baths i will give them a go though. I have an appoint with two different crohns docs one in 3 days and another in 8days to get two different opinions. Im just scared of going to the toilet, i know the pain isnt as bad as i make it out to be but im not sure how to get rid of this sort of anxiety?? any ideas? :) thanks guys!
