Can't drink laxative. Can you get pills?

Ive been booked in for a capsule endoscopy tomorrow and ive been giving 'moviprep' I have to drink 2 litres of it! Ive tried two glasses of it but i cant do anymore, when i swallow it, it comes back up then i have to swallow it again. Do you think i will be able to ring up the hospital tomorrow to rebook my appointment and ask for laxatives in pill form? or can you not get pill laxatives???

I am assuming you are from the states? There is a pill form laxative but you could be too late for them. I haven't the 2 litres thing in years, Canadians use Pico Salax, once glass and then water, next day one glass. I am not American so I don't know how things work by cancelling things. Good luck.

You can get them, but you can also do a miralax prep. You can mix it with gatorade or any type of clear liquid you'd like (as long as its not red or purple) and do the prep that way. You can't taste the laxative in it at all. I did the pills one time, and it was like 36 horse pills you had to take over like an hours time or something like that. I thought that was way more torturous!

I hated moviprep!! had to take 2 ltrs for my colonoscopy. i really struggled to keep it down, just like pure salt water with a slimy texture! ew ew ew ew eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!!!
however, i was told it isnt just a laxitive, its a sort of cleanser to make sure they get the best results first time.
i tried using diluting juice mixed in with the first litre but it was still disgusting, so with the next litre i had a seperate tasty drink, so everytime i took a gulp of moviprep i had a tasty one to follow straight away, that helped alot!
hope you manage as rescheduling appointments are a pain in the bum... no pun intended! HAHA!!

I mixed mine with lemon juice. I found taking little sips rather than downing helped as it didnt come back up that way.

Used to be Visicol pill laxative in the US. No longer made though. I know this because my doc prescribed it before my last prep (I begged for a pill) and my pharmacist said that it was no longer made for sale in the US and there are no more pill laxatives
