I am frustrated with the task of choosing a pouch to purchase and so far have been going off of the dozens of samples I received.

I like the pouches with the spout and little cap at the bottom but have only found 3 and they are all for high output. Right now I have high output but hope to eventually go with a smaller pouch. There is one by Hollister but its clear (yuck), Convatec one is good but the filter doesn't work and the flap annoys my belly and one by Coloplast which I haven't tried.

I can't stand 99.9% of the pouches because they have the collar and the pouch lock. I just find these insecure and nasty to clean.

The few that are Velcro are a little better but again I worry about it breaking through the seal.

Are there any pouches with the cap or some other design I'm missing? Maybe I'm missing something but it's like they intentionally made uneasy designs.

I have been using a convatec bag with the velcro for about 4 months now and haven't any issues with it at all. I also have a vent on the bag which I put the tab to shower with on as soon as I put a new bag on. The vent just doesn't seem to work. I tried to get none vented bags, but my insurance company said they wouldn't pay for those even though they are cheaper, go figure.

If your output gets thicker those spout bags aren't going to work well. Sometimes my output is so thick that I have to squeeze it out the bag kind of like tooth paste.

If you have thick output (like I do), you can always try the colomajic liners in your bag. I just put a liner inside my bag, and when I go, I whip the liner out and put a new one in. They're flushable and were the best thing I've ever found since getting my stoma. The make going to the bathroom in public sooo much easier, and cleaner. There's no need for water, or trying to squish the poop out the bottom of your bag. I've been using the smallest, sealed bottom bag that coloplast makes for the last 3 years. It's been wonderful. And if you have a filtered bag, it's great because the liners have pin holes to let the gas out as per usual.
