I have another capsule endoscopy scheduled for Thursday. Had blood work done before thanksgiving and my protein levels came back very high they said. Checking for inflammation and ulcers in my small intestines. Prepping Wednesday :poo: which I hate I have to a lesser miralax prep but I still get very nauseous. Anyone ever taken an over the counter anti nausea medicine with a prep? Also currently taking pentasa but sounds like to me that it's not working. What would I be on next?

Hi lulu Belle, welcome to the forum. I believe tea is allowed during prep as long as it's clear (no milk or anything like that added to it), so you may want to try something like ginger tea or peppermint tea for your nausea when prepping. Both of those are decent at quelling nausea. I don't know of any OTC meds that help nausea particularly well, but if you can get a prescription, I personally take generic Zofran (Ondansetron) when I prep as I also get really nauseous during prep. My doctor told me that it's okay for me to take when I'm prepping. So, perhaps call your doctor and see if there's anything they can prescribe for you.

Good luck with your capsule endoscopy! I hope it gets you some answers and is worth going through the yuckiness of prep for. As for meds, Pentasa is very mild so if it's not working then you should discuss with your doctor what other medications might be a better fit for you.
