I remember that I used to be tested for both when I was younger but I forget what either one of them means. What do CBC and sedrate test for? (my google powers are I guess not in the mood at the moment)

Sed rate stands for sedimentation rate, they basically are looking at inflammation there.

CBC stands for complete blood count. It just does the gamut. So like iron and hemoglobin levels would be in here.

Hi Crabby,

CBC consists of the following:
Hemoglobin, Red cell count, platelets, White cell count which includes differentiation
into neutrophil polymorphs, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils basophils.
An increase of neutrophils can be indicative of infection.
Platelet deficiency can be indicative of bleeding somewhere in the body.
A decrease of white cells can be indicative of immune deficiency or suppression.
ESR, erythrocyte sedimentation rate is indicative of inflammation in the body.
CRP is C reactive protein and also indicative of inflammation in the body.
Decrease of red blood cells can be indicative of anemia.
