CFS and IBD

Im not sure what I started with first but read somewhere that joint pain can start long before the IBD flares up. Ive been tired for years and had diaherra on and off but just put it down to suffering from Helicobacter pylori. Then after a kidney infection and lung infection i have or think CFS. Can IBD weaken yr immune system over time? Has anyone else suffered from these two, CFS/IBD together.

Hi Lisa, yep, I've been to doctors complaining of being tired all the time and polyarthralgia at various times in the past before I was diagnosed with Crohn's.
It is known in by the medics that joint pains/rheumatism can be a sign for them to check for an underlying IBD.

IBD doesn't weaken your immune system, it's a manifestation of an over active immune system hence the anti-body technologies used to control the symptoms.
