Hi everyone,

I have recently cut out a lot do fat and sugar from my diet, while eating a diet high in fat and sugar I was having many bowel movements per day and some were quite explosive. So now that I have changed my diet, I'm only using the washroom once per day or every other day and am feeling a little backed up. What do you do to get things moving? Certain foods or drinks?
 
Sometimes hot beverages like tea or coffee will get things moving. I personally can't have caffeine, but herbal tea is caffeine-free and sometimes moves things along for me. Oatmeal also usually lands me in the bathroom fairly quickly after eating it - I think it's the fiber content in it that does it. Be careful with it if fiber is an issue for you - for me, I cook it with lots of water until it's mushy (if it's crunchy or hard at all then it causes pain).
