I had my surgery in July 2010, Monday was my post surgery colonoscopy,My GI said he saw a small spot of crohns on the intestine side of were they stiched me back together,so no more 6mp I start Cimzia Thur,I quess it's a little different than Humera because you mix it before you inject it,so the doc wants his nurse to the loading dose with me.I was afraid mercapthophine was not going to do it because i was only taking 50mg most folks on this forum are taking 75mg some even 100mg,but I was at the liver enzymes limit at 50mg. The doc already had his mind made of what to do because just before he knocked me out i ask him what are we going to do if you see active crohns in there and answered without a second thought were changing Meds. Anyway I feel great just doing want the doc says,Oh just a little non crohns news found out about a week ago that all be grand pa 5 iron, took that kid forever,ok hope you all doing well.

Hey Steve, I was wondering where you got to! Changing meds is whatI have to do, seems like it is the only way to survive, Cimzia isnt here yet and I refuse Tysabri and been on everything else, having crohns over 20 years, I guess I know my own body by now, but still want a new one ;). Mercaptopurine affected my liver within a week, can't take that stuff. Sorry they found some Crohns but I too believe my second resection had that problem too. Better to catch it now. YOU gotta look after yourself so you get into the golf swinging soon! Let us know how you do with the Cimzia and welcome back!

Hope the Cimzia works well for you! I've been on it a year now now and have always had pre-loaded syringes. The nurse came once just to show how to inject it. It's a gel-like liquid so it's a little different to inject. But quite easy so no worries. Hope you get the pre-filled ones as I suspect it'd be a pain to have to mix it yourself.

Good luck and Congrats on being a grandpa!

Hi Pen my liver didn't like that 6mp either,to bad me and my doc were hoping it was going to work, but 50mg just wasn't enough to be effective, took the Cimzia today,it was weird there is little bottle of powder and a bottle of water, you mix them and takes about 30 min for it to completly dissolve then you inject it, two shots today, two shots in 2 weeks then one shot a month.Having gone thru that the nurse told me the doc goofed a little because you can get Cimzia in ready to go syringes like Humira, the reason they have the reconstituted like i had today is for custom doses something less than 200mg,but my dose is 200mg so all get the ready to go syringes for now on. All keep you up on how the Cimzia does, so far so good, hope you get Cimzia soon in canada. Steve
