I havnt been on for a while I see now why you don't see many people that are well making topics, once there better they move on. Since my proctocolectomy last September I'm a totally different person. I have not had any major problem sonce surgery. one thing that puzzles me is, is it crohns or colitis that I had or due have? My doc released me not long after surgery said I didn't need him any longer and I'm on no meds. I'm in perfect physical condition other then the bit of intestines hanging on my side lol.. l just want to say wow!!! This is what it feels like to be normal I must not have felt normal for 25 years . It's amazing wish I had surgey years years ago.hope everyone is doing well and if u have a surgery coming up good for you, you won't regret it.

Thanks for letting us know how well you are doing! It's so nice to hear that feeling normal is achievable and a really great thing for those who are facing surgery to hear from someone who has been through it! :ghug:

I noticed your absence from the forum and I'm glad to know it was for a good reason. Glad life with a stoma is working out for you. :) Are you enjoying eating whatever you like again? ;)

Oh god yes last night I had pizza, chicken wings and beer. My problem is I've gone from about 85 pounds to 118 I'm only 5'2 so I'm getting a little chunky lol never thought I would say that. How is everything with your stoma? I know you've gone through several. I feel so good I've bought an annual pass to universal studios here in Florida, because first off we get a discount and second I can walk the parks with not having to worry about a bathroom lol and the stamina I have now is awesome. I guess I am one of those people that have regrets not having the surgey sooner.

It's so great to hear you're doing well. I still appreciate how much better my life is with a stoma too. And now with my current stoma I can eat whatever I like too. The things I'm enjoying most are apples and pears and Bounty bars (coconut), after years of no fibre, I really missed pears!

Enjoy Universal Studios!

Glad you are feeling better. I had a temporary stoma, but I loathed it. I was still flared at the time in spite of the surgery, and that likely did not help my impression of it.

I am one of the unsymptomatic ones that still hangs around.

Enjoy you improvement. We have to take good times when they come.

Dan

I'm six months post op, and loving life with my stoma too.
It's amazing not to be in constant pain despite strong pain meds, no medication either, they'd all stopped working anyway.
Great to hear of someone else doing well
